Champagne Is Good For You!

Champagne Is Healthy
1. Improves your sex drive.
Alcohol is known to decrease your inhibitions, and Champagne is known to give you a more uplifting sense of when the alcohol hits you, a more giddy feeling and general sense of happiness.
2. Heart health may be improved
It is similar to both red wine and white wine, in that it can be good for your heart. Champagne is made from a mixture of both red grapes and white grapes, therefore containing antioxidants which do wonders for your blood vessels and take away bad cholesterol. This therefore reduces the chance of strokes and heart disease, but don’t over do it as too much of anything can be bad.
3. It will keep you on your toes
The University of Columbia have done some research that suggests that there are proteins contained within Champagne that are great for your short term memory. The University of Reading also published an article in 2013 that suggested that 3 glasses per week was good for you.
4. Improves your mood
Champagne is Champagne, and it is impossible to drink it without instantly feeling better, the science behind this is the zinc, potassium and magnesium it contains apparently.
5. Few calories
Compared to both white wine and red wine it has just over half the calories of each of these. And since the servings aren’t usually as generous you will be much better off drinking Champagne.
6.Smaller diabetes risk
Research from Canada which dates back to 2009 suggests that sparkling wines such as Champagne can reduce the risk of diabetes by up to 13%.
7. Lower dementia risk
Champagne in small quantities has been proven to reduce the onset of dementia. but as with anything don’t over indulge!

Further Champagne Health Benefits
There are claims that Champagne will improve your memory, this is assuming you don’t consume two bottles in one go of course! Tests have shown that on rats their success in a maze improved from 50% to 70% when they had consumed our favourite sparkling wine. The theory is that this is due to various compounds found in both Pinot Meunier and Pinot Noir that improve both spatial awareness and memory. Translated to our own lives the suggestion is that3 glasses a week could help reduce the onset of degenerative disorder such as dementia.
Champagne also gets you drunk more quickly! Admittedly this isn’t a health benefit as such, but it is certainly a benefit! The University of Oxford found that this is due to the bubbles in Champagne. The theory goes that the bubbles allow the alcohol to enter the bloodstream quicker. The idea is the carbonation rushes the alcohol into the small intestine from the stomach, thereby increasing the level of intoxication.
Champagne also helps improve your skin. In Champagne there are a number of antioxidants that help with skin tone. We don’t recommend using a bottle of Dom Perignon as a moisturising lotion as it could be a very expensive way to try to look younger. Factually though it is proven to help!
Champagne also has less calories than wine. A similar size small glass of Champagne will have approximately 80-100 less calories in than a glass of red wine for example. This is due to the lower sugar content found in our favourite sparkling wine. That is not to say that drinking it as a birthday celebration by the gallon is a wise diet option though!
